Public API and agent discovery

Stamp Identifier App publishes a small read-only API for famous stamp profiles plus agent-facing discovery metadata for API catalogs, MCP, WebMCP, markdown negotiation, and skill discovery.

Capabilities

  • Search famous stamps with structured JSON responses.
  • Fetch complete stamp profiles with valuation and identification fields.
  • Discover the API via RFC 9727 linkset metadata and RFC 8288 Link headers.
  • Access read-only MCP and WebMCP tools for browser and agent integrations.

Content policy

  • Content-Signal: ai-train=no, search=yes, ai-input=yes
  • HTML remains the default response format for browsers.
  • Requests with Accept: text/markdown receive a markdown response with Content-Type: text/markdown.

Integration notes

The public API is intentionally read-only and is meant for discovery, browsing, and educational tooling. If you need richer editorial context, link users back to the human pages under /stamps, /guide, and /faq.

Link headers are published on HTML pages and point agents to the API catalog, OpenAPI description, and this documentation. Browser agents can also use WebMCP on page load to call the same read-only search and lookup tools directly in the client.
